English rock and pop legend Morrissey has cancelled a pair of weekend shows due to a \u201ccredible threat\u201d to his life. <\/p>\n
The singer made the announcement on his Instagram account hours before he was slated to play at the Foxwoods in Connecticut. He was scheduled to play the MGM Music Hall in Boston on Saturday but that show was cancelled as well. <\/p>\n
\u201cDue to recent events and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and band, the upcoming shows this weekend at Foxwoods and MGM Music Hall have been cancelled,\u201d a message on his social media account read. <\/p>\n
Rolling Stone said another post on his Instagram page read, \u201cIn recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrisey\u2019s life. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and audience, tonight\u2019s engagement at Foxwoods has been cancelled. We appreciate your understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rolling Stone noted<\/b><\/a> that the MGM Music Hall also noted that a \u201ccredible threat\u201d had been made against Morrissey in announcement that the show has been cancelled. Rolling Stone said this all comes weeks after Noah Castellano, a 26-year-old Ottawa man was arrested and charged with \u201cthreats to cause death or bodily harm\u201d for threats it said he made to Morrissey on Blue Sky. <\/p>\n Rolling Stone reported that Castellano is accused of posting under an account called \u201cguy who gets shot in the head one hundred thousand times a day,\u201d and wrote, \u201cSteven Patrick Morrissey when you perform at TD Place here in Ottawa next week on the evening of September 12th, 2025 at about 9 p.m., I will be present at the venue in the audience and I will attempt to shoot you many times and kill you with a very large gun that I own legally.\u201d<\/p>\n Rolling Stone said that Morrissey performed the show in Ottawa, and that Castellano made his $5,000 bail and is \u201cmandated to live at the Washington, DC area home of his father.\u201d<\/p>\n Morrissey is next slated to play a pair of shows in Pennsylvania \u2014 Sept. 23 at The Met Philadelphia and Sept. 25 at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
