The two people killed in the plane crash that took the life of country music singer-songwriter Brett James on Thursday have been identified, and it is heartbreaking news.<\/p>\n
According to multiple reports<\/b><\/a>, James\u2019 wife, Melody Wilson, 59, and her daughter, Meryl Maxwell Wilson, were also killed in the crash.<\/p>\n James, a Grammy-winning songwriter and a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, was in a plane that went down near an elementary school in Franklin, North Carolina. <\/p>\n \u201cA Cirrus SR22T crashed in a field in Franklin, North Carolina, around 3 p.m. local time on Thursday, Sept. 18,\u201d the FAA shared in a statement. \u201cThree people were on board. The station said the plane took off out of John C Tune Airport in Nashville. <\/p>\n The NTSB said an investigator was slated to be on scene on Friday and that additional information might be available then. <\/p>\n The Nashville Songwriters Association International account on Facebook posted, \u201cThe NSAI family is stunned by the death of board member and legendary songwriter Brett James. The loss is profound.\u201d<\/p>\n James, 57, began his career as a solo artist in 1995, and charted three singles that year. But he became best known for his ability as a songwriter with 494 songs being recorded by other artists.
