Bill Maher<\/a> issued a blunt message about the Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em>!<\/a> suspension after host Jimmy Kimmel<\/a>\u2018s remarks about Charlie Kirk<\/a>\u2018s death after the conservative activist was<\/p>\n On the Friday, September 19 episode<\/a> of Real Time With Bill Mahe<\/em>r<\/a>, Maher addressed ABC\u2019s shocking move<\/a> right off the bat. \u201cI know why you\u2019re happy tonight; I\u2019m still on,\u201d he quipped after the studio audience welcomed him with applause. \u201cTalk show hosts are going down like blockbusters in the \u201990s.\u201d<\/p>\n Maher continued, \u201cWell, I guess you all heard. Jimmy Kimmel \u2014 my friend, my compatriot \u2014 he\u2019s canned by ABC<\/a> for comments he made about Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassin.\u201d<\/p>\n After sharing that he\u2019s \u201cnot intimidated by the FCC,\u201d the 69-year-old announced that he had \u201cone thing to say\u201d to President Donald Trump<\/a>: \u201cHave you lost weight? You look terrific.\u201d<\/p>\n Maher also brought up the time 24 years ago when the network canceled his show Politically Incorrect<\/a><\/em> following his claim that the 9\/11 plane hijackers weren\u2019t \u201ccowardly.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cOh yes, I got canceled before cancel even had a culture,\u201d he said of the 2001 incident. \u201cABC, they are steady. ABC stands for \u2018Always Be Caving.\u2019 So Jimmy, pal, I am with you. I support you. And on the bright side, you don\u2019t have to pretend anymore that you like Disneyland.\u201d<\/p>\n On September 14, Kimmel faced backlash after suggesting that the suspect in Kirk\u2019s shooting was a right-wing extremist.<\/p>\n \u201cWe hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,\u201d he said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n Additionally, Kimmel criticized Trump\u2019s response to a question about how the POTUS was faring after Kirk\u2019s death. \u201cI think very good,\u201d the 79-year-old president replied. \u201cAnd by the way, right there, you see all the trucks? They just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis is not how an adult grieves the murder of somebody he called a friend,\u201d Kimmel said. \u201cThis is how a 4-year-old mourns a goldfish, OK?\u201d<\/p>\n Of the remarks that got Kimmel\u2019s show pulled, Maher bluntly stated, \u201cLook, I don\u2019t think what he said was exactly right. I don\u2019t. We don\u2019t agree on that. He shouldn\u2019t lose his job for it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWas he on the left? I don\u2019t know that either,\u201d he added. \u201c\u2026 It is a fool\u2019s errand to try to say that these nuts who do these things are any team.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis kid doesn\u2019t belong in either party. He belongs in a straitjacket,\u201d Maher declared. \u201cHe\u2019s an outpatient who should not be out. But you have the right to be wrong, or have any opinion you want. That\u2019s what the First Amendment is all about.\u201d<\/p>\n To conclude his opening monologue, Maher sent a direct message to Kimmel, telling the ousted host, \u201cYou did a great, funny show for two decades. You should be proud of that.
