Charlie Sheen<\/strong> threw his hat into the ring to replace Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong> amid the late night comedian\u2019s suspension.<\/p>\n Sheen<\/a> joined Fox News\u2019 Gutfeld!<\/em><\/a> on Friday evening to promote his new Netflix documentary and autobiography. The actor joked he was only on the show because Jimmy Fallon wouldn\u2019t return his calls.<\/p>\n On Kimmel\u2019s suspension, Sheen said he\u2019s all for free speech, but he also joked that he could be the only to \u201cfix\u201d Kimmel\u2019s show and bring back big ratings.<\/p>\n \u201cAs far as the Kimmel stuff, you know, I am a firm believer in freedom of speech, you know? Especially, you now, some of the speech that I believed in, and, yeah, but all of that said, I saw the dismissal as a potential job opening, and if they want to, you know, fix that show and get some ratings, this guy!\u201d Sheen said.<\/p>\n Host Greg Gutfeld<\/strong> argued<\/a> earlier in the show that Kirk would have likely been in favor of Kimmel returning to his show.<\/p>\n Kimmel was put on indefinite suspension by ABC following comments about Kirk\u2019s murder and his suspected shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.<\/p>\n \u201cWe hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,\u201d Kimmel said<\/a>.<\/p>\n Utah officials, including the governor have said that Robinson was \u201cindoctrinated\u201d in far-left ideology ahead of Kirk being shot and killed last week at a college campus in the state.<\/p>\n Kimmel\u2019s ABC suspension came amid complaints from local affiliates and also followed FCC Chair Brendan Carr<\/strong> pressuring the network in a podcast interview.<\/p>\n \u201cFrankly, when you see stuff like this, I mean look, we can do this the easy way or the hard way,\u201d he said<\/a>. \u201cThese companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there\u2019s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n Check out the Gutfeld\/Sheen exchange below:<\/p>\n GREG GUTFELD: How did you end up on this show?<\/p>\n CHARLIE SHEEN: I\u2019m asking myself that right now. The math is pretty simple, Fallon wouldn\u2019t return my call. I walked 20 feet off a Jesse Watters stage, saw you, you jumped up off the couch screamed my name, we never met before, gave me a giant hug and said, \u201chey, you wanna do the show?\u201d And I was like, \u201cf**k yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n GUTFELD: And here we are.<\/p>\n SHEEN: And here we are.<\/p>\n GUTFELD: I feel like I\u2019ve known you all of my life [laughs]. What do you make of this current climate? I mean, you\u2019ve been, you know, watching what we\u2019ve been watching, the world is changing.<\/p>\n SHEEN: I mean, as far as the Kimmel stuff, you know, I am a firm believer in freedom of speech, you know?
