Steve Martin and Martin Short have canceled their comedy shows this weekend in Virginia after the former caught Covid.<\/p>\n
\u201cDear Virginia Beach and Richmond. Sadly, I have come down with Covid,\u201d Steve Martin wrote on social media<\/a>. \u201cI can\u2019t possibly do the shows that you deserve. So Marty and I must cancel tonight & tomorrow. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Refunds will be available to ticket buyers.\u201d New dates for Virginia Beach and Richmond have not yet been announced.<\/p>\n While Covid is no longer the concert-canceling juggernaut that it once was, Short and Martin somehow continue to make headlines over the virus: Earlier this year, the duo was forced to postpone two shows<\/a> after Short caught Covid during \u2014 as Martin claimed \u2014 the SNL 50<\/em> anniversary special.<\/p>\n \u201cMarty has Covid. I wonder why? The\u00a0SNL 50th Covid curse is real,\u201d Martin wrote on social media at the time, joking that Short got Covid from Maya Rudolph. \u201cUnfortunately, we have to reschedule our sold out Durham and Knoxville dates to 10\/17 Knoxville and 10\/18 Durham. So sorry for the inconvenience. I think we\u2019ll be funnier then, anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n Hopefully, Martin \u2014 who perhaps caught Covid while attending the Emmys last week? \u2014 will heal up in time so those rescheduled shows aren\u2019t postponed again. The two comedy legends are next scheduled to perform October 4 in Hollywood, Florida. Their Dukes of Funnytown Tour will keep the pair on the road through December 5.<\/p>\n In 2026, the Only Murders in the Building<\/em> co-stars will embark on The Best of Steve Martin & Martin Short tour, featuring the former\u2019s Steep Canyon Rangers.
