Lucien Laviscount is saying Benvenuto! <\/p>\n
Season 5 of \u201cEmily in Paris\u201d <\/a>is set to debut on Netflix on Dec. 18 and the actor, 33, took a moment to tease what fans are in store for.<\/p>\n \u201cAll I\u2019m gonna say is strap in,\u201d Laviscount told People<\/a>. \u201cBecause it goes left, so far left, and a little bit right this season.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cTime Next Year\u201d alum\u00a0joined the romantic comedy drama in season 2\u00a0as Emily\u2019s (Lily Collins) love interest, Alfie.<\/p>\n In classic rom-com fashion, Emily was already involved with her neighbor, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo).<\/p>\n Now that Alfie and Emily\u2019s romantic relationship fizzled out, she\u2019s starting a new chapter in Rome with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini). <\/p>\n However, there will be no shortage of drama for these players.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t know what to expect \u2014 none of us do before we get the scripts \u2014 and we got the scripts for this season and it\u2019s\u2026 Yeah, I don\u2019t think anyone could have foreseen that coming,\u201d Laviscount shared.\u00a0<\/p>\n The show, which also features\u00a0Ashley Park,\u00a0Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery,\u00a0Paul Forman\u00a0and\u00a0William Abadie, shot the upcoming season in May.<\/p>\n Laviscount called the experience \u201camazing\u201d per usual.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s good to be back \u2014 to be back in Paris,\u201d he gushed. \u201cWe shot quite a little bit in Rome as well.\u201d<\/p>\n In real life, the cast has also grown closer since the series first aired in 2020.<\/p>\n \u201cLily\u2019s a mom now,\u201d Laviscount continued. \u201cEveryone\u2019s kind of fighting through life and in new relationships and new friendships and everything like that. So it\u2019s been great to kind of get back in on set with everyone and see where everyone\u2019s there.\u201d<\/p>\n The British star also reflected on what it meant to play Alfie for the past four seasons. <\/p>\n \u201cI think Alfie kind of always speaks his truth, which I\u2019d like to say is a trait of mine. In the most difficult situations, he speaks the truth. I like to say I\u2019m pretty similar in that respect,\u201d Laviscount revealed. \u201cI love playing Alfie. Alfie\u2019s been an amazing part of my life now. It\u2019s been cool.\u201d<\/p>\n However, during the last leg of shooting, a tragedy occurred on set.<\/p>\n While filming in August, an assistant director on the show suddenly passed away<\/a>.<\/p>\n The series was shooting in Venice\u00a0at the Hotel Danieli when Diego Borella, 47, reportedly collapsed in front of the crew.<\/p>\n Per\u00a0La Repubblica<\/a>, medics were unable to save him after showing up around 7 p.m. on August 21. The outlet states Borella suffered a\u00a0heart attack.<\/p>\n At the time, \u201cEmily in Paris\u201d was filming the final scene of Season 5.<\/p>\n Days before Borella\u2019s death, Collins, 36, posted some sweet behind-the-scenes pictures from shooting.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cJoy ride to and from work with the best\u2026,\u201d\u00a0she captioned the pictures<\/a>\u00a0that included an image of Park, 34.<\/p>\n The fan-favorite series, created by Darren Star, follows Emily, an American marketing executive navigating her life in Paris.<\/p>\n However, new episodes will have the fashionista relocating from the French capital to Italy. The upcoming episodes will be set in both Rome and Venice.<\/p>\n The series first ventured into Rome during Season 4.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIt was so great to go from Paris to Rome because you\u2019re still in Europe and you\u2019re still feeling that romance and passion of Europe, but you\u2019re getting to experience a different part of history which was really fun,\u201d\u00a0Collins, 36, told\u00a0the Hollywood Reporter\u00a0<\/a>at last year\u2019s premiere.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, in October, Bravo, 37, hinted that he wasn\u2019t sold on coming back to \u201cEm<\/a>ily in Paris.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n According to\u00a0the Times<\/a>, the actor said in an interview with the French newspaper\u00a0Le Figaro<\/a>, that he was feeling finished with the show because \u201cLife is short. It takes five months to shoot this series. Do I want to sacrifice them by telling something that does not stimulate me?\u201d<\/p>\n Bravo also told the Hollywood Reporter\u00a0<\/em>that he was\u00a0hoping his character, Gabriel, would grow in Season 5.<\/p>\n \u201cHe made a few choices that made me kind of grow away from him,\u201d admitted the star. \u201cWe were very much alike in Season 1, but now, I don\u2019t really know. I think I feel like he needs to get his s\u2013t together.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
