Bill Maher<\/strong> questioned why Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s<\/strong> show was suspended by ABC this week but Brian Kilmeade<\/strong> was allowed to continue working for Fox News after he suggested the best way to deal with violent homeless people is to execute them.<\/p>\n Maher, on the Friday episode of Real Time<\/em><\/a> on HBO, read Kilmeade\u2019s Sept. 10 comments where he said the best way to handle homeless people who do not use government help or go to prison is to \u201cjust kill \u2019em.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd this apparently, [is] not controversial,\u201d Maher said.<\/p>\n MSNBC senior political analyst Alex Wagner<\/strong> jumped in there, adding:<\/p>\n \u201cWe live in a moment when maligning, insulting, or otherwise calling for the death of the poor, the weakest, people of color, isn\u2019t exactly published by, I don\u2019t know, Fox News,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Maher, a moment later, said he was amused television\u2019s \u201cangel of death\u201d ended up coming for Kimmel, but not Kilmeade, after the comedian suggested MAGA was \u201cdesperately\u201d trying to say the killer of Charlie Kirk<\/strong> was not a supporter of President Donald Trump<\/strong>.<\/p>\n But Maher, and Wagner for that matter, left one key aspect out of the comparison: Kilmeade apologized for his viral comments<\/a>, and Kimmel did not. Kimmel, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>, felt his comments \u201cdid not require\u201d an apology.<\/p>\n \u201cWe hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,\u201d Kimmel said on his show last Monday.<\/p>\n Kimmel was criticized by many for the claim, considering the reported details point to Tyler Robinson<\/strong>, Kirk\u2019s suspected killer, being a leftist. Robinson reportedly had a romantic relationship with his trans roommate, used phrases associated with Antifa<\/a>, and, in\u00a0text messages<\/a> released on Tuesday, said he shot Kirk because of the conservative influencer\u2019s \u201chatred.\u201d Utah officials have said Robinson was \u201cindoctrinated\u201d in far-left \u201cideology\u201d in the years leading up to Kirk\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n Another key difference between Kilmeade and Kimmel is that Kilmeade\u2019s comments were made on cable, compared to Kimmel, who shared his thoughts on the public airwaves. FCC Chair Brendan Carr<\/strong>, hours before ABC suspended Kimmel on Wednesday, said the FCC would look at \u201cremedies\u201d against Kimmel<\/a>, if ABC did not punish him first.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat people don\u2019t understand is\u2026 broadcasters are entirely different than people who use other forms of communication. They have a license granted by us at the FCC, and what comes with it is an obligation to operate in the public interest,\u201d Carr added.<\/p>\n Carr\u2019s comments, and ABC\u2019s suspension coming soon after, led many to accuse the Trump Administration of pressuring ABC to pull Kimmel\u2019s show.
