Morrissey<\/a> has canceled a pair of upcoming shows after an Ottawa man was arrested for making an alleged death threat ahead of his Sept. 12 performance at Cityfolk Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n A man named Noah Castellano posted the alleged threat Sept. 4 on Bluesky, targeting the English singer and songwriter, the Ottawa Citizen<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n Under the account name \u201cguy who gets shot in the head one hundred thousand times a day,\u201d he wrote<\/a>: \u201cSteven Patrick Morrissey when you perform at TD Place here in Ottawa next week on the evening of September 12th, 2025 at about 9 pm, I will be present at the venue in the audience and I will attempt to shoot you many times and kill you with a very large gun that I own illegally,\u201d according to court documents.<\/p>\n The 26-year-old was charged after the post, Ottawa police told CBS News<\/a>. Castellano was released on $5,000 bail, and an investigation is still ongoing.<\/p>\n Morrissey, the 66-year-old former Smiths singer, then announced that upcoming shows at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut on Friday and Boston\u2019s MGM Music Hall on Saturday were canceled for safety reasons.<\/p>\n \u201cDue to recent events and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and band, the upcoming shows this weekend at Foxwoods and MGM Music Hall have been canceled,\u201d statement posted to Instagram<\/a> read. \u201cAll tickets will be refunded automatically at your original point of purchase.
