My Best Friend’s Wedding<\/a> fans can celebrate: Julia Roberts<\/a> is discussing reprising her role as Jules Potter for the sequel.<\/p>\nWhen the Oscar winner, 57, spoke with Variety<\/a> about her new movie After the Hunt<\/a> in a joint interview with costars Ayo Edebiri<\/a>,\u00a0Andrew Garfield<\/a>\u00a0and director\u00a0Luca Guadagnino<\/a>, she said she is in talks to appear in the recently announced sequel to 1997’s My Best Friend’s Wedding.<\/p>\nThe outlet asked Roberts whether she has been approached to star in a sequel, or if she may not appear at all. “No, they\u2019re talking to me,” Robert said.<\/p>\n
According to Variety, Roberts laughed when Guadagnino, 54, said during the interview that he would direct the sequel “in a second.”<\/p>\n
Multiple<\/a>\u00a0outlets<\/a> reported<\/a> on July 29 that Past Lives\u00a0and\u00a0Materialists<\/a> director Celine Song<\/a> had signed on to write a sequel<\/a> to one of Roberts’ rom-com classics, in which she costarred with Dermot Mulroney<\/a>.<\/p>\nSong, 37, signed on as a screenwriter, and the sequel did not yet have a director or official casting announcements to share.\u00a0Australian filmmaker P.J.
