Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> is a well-known musical mastermind, so it comes as no surprise that every aspect of her next album, The Life of a Showgirl, <\/i>was meticulously planned out in advance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted this album to feel really luxurious, and as a nod to the luxury that a showgirl puts on when she\u2019s onstage \u2014 meanwhile, she\u2019s in the quick-change room [breathing heavily],\u201d Swift, 35, explained in a Saturday, September 20, social media video<\/a>. \u201cMaybe that\u2019s just me, I don\u2019t know. The vinyl packaging, the CD packaging, the photographs, the photo cards \u2014 It\u2019s all just something I\u2019m very proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cIt took a lot of time to put together, a lot of concentration, a lot of organization, but hopefully it pays off. I hope the fans are happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift announced during an appearance on fianc\u00e9 Travis Kelce<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast<\/a> in August that her 12th album was inspired by her experience performing on her record-breaking Eras Tour<\/i>, would drop this fall.<\/span><\/p>\n

To celebrate the occasion, Swift revealed Mert Alas<\/strong> and Marcus Piggott<\/strong>-shot album artwork<\/a>, in which she wore a bedazzled Area corset while lying in a bathtub. Additional covers feature Swift changing into a variety of sultry showgirl-inspired costumes and poses on a stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe photoshoot that we did with Mert and Marcus was so extraordinary and I was so happy with it that I just wanted the fans to have as many images from this sort of world [and] this album era,\u201d she said in the Saturday footage, teasing a handful of portraits made it into the record inserts. \u201cI really spent a lot of time figuring out how I could make the best vinyl product and the best packaging.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift further revealed that each CD has \u201cphoto cards\u201d inside, and that the vinyl records come with a \u201cunique poem.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve got more images than we ever planned<\/a> to put in there,\u201d she said, specifically teasing the vinyl records. \u201cWe chose this really high-gloss finish, which I\u2019ve never done before. I think it looks so cool!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Life of a Showgirl <\/i>will be released Friday, October 3, followed by a special listening party held at various movie theaters.<\/p>\n
