The episode marked the conclusion of the series\u2019 scheduled nine-episode run, so there will be no further episodes.<\/p>\n The show is a historical drama based on true events. Its story follows Ka\u2019iana, played by Jason Momoa, and Kamehameha as they unite forces to fight the invaders. In the finale, Ka\u2019iana is named Chief of War by Kamehameha and prepares the Hawaiian army. While the battle ended with Kamehameha achieving victory, the episode ended with a massive cliffhanger. King Kahekili orders Lima to assassinate Ka\u2019iana and bring his bones.<\/p>\n Chief of War debuted with the first two episodes on August 1, 2025, and subsequent episodes were released weekly. Both the show creators, Momoa and Thomas Pa\u2019a Sibbett, are Hawaiian, which lent authenticity to the show.<\/p>\n Apart from acting and co-creating the show, Momoa has also directed the final episode.
