The Love Island Games<\/a><\/em> have officially commenced.<\/p>\n As the spinoff of Love Island USA<\/a> <\/em>enters its second season, fans are in for a treat with some familiar faces, including Mert Okatan, the Love Island Netherlands & Belgium <\/em>winner, who is bringing his competitive spirit back to the franchise to take home the crown as king of the games.<\/p>\n Okatan first appeared on Love Island Netherlands & Belgium<\/em>\u2019s second season in 2020, which ran from Aug. 31 to Oct. 11, 2020. He and his partner, Joan Pronk, ultimately won the show; however, they parted ways in 2021.<\/p>\n His Love Island <\/em>reign didn\u2019t end there. Okatan returned to the same franchise during Season 3, where he placed third.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m a very competitive person. I hate to lose,\u201d Okatan says in a video introduction shared on the Love Island USA <\/em>official X account. \u201cI\u2019m a born winner, you know. I hate to lose, so I\u2019m here to not lose, to win the game.\u201d<\/p>\n As a footballer, Okatan notes that his speed is an \u201c8 out of 10,\u201d and that his strength is 10 out of 10, so he has no doubts about how he\u2019ll show up on the physical front. He is also unashamed to share hopes of meeting a potential mate along the way, sharing his affinity for American women.<\/p>\n \u201cI love American women,\u201d he quips in the introduction video. \u201cIf I love a girl, you don\u2019t need language, you know.
