The question is: Why do we focus on the so-called bad behavior of women while letting the terrible men get away with murder (often literally)?<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Take <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/shows\/sex-and-the-city\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Sex and the City;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><em>Sex and the City<\/em><\/a> (1998-2004) and <em>Girls<\/em> (2012-2017), two of HBO\u2019s historically most popular shows (now getting a second life thanks to streaming): Both are about a quartet of female friends, including two of the most heavily critiqued main characters in TV history, Carrie Bradshaw and Hannah Horvath, respectively. Rot, bitches.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Dunham offered <em>Sopranos<\/em> patriarch Tony as a counterpoint: \u201cPeople were like, \u2018Tony Soprano is a misunderstood, kind man. When they aren\u2019t, it can trigger criticism,\u201d present tense. Meaning, it\u2019s still happening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Just look at social media after episodes of <em>The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/em> (starring <strong>Lola Tung<\/strong> as Belly) and <em>Emily in Paris<\/em> (<strong>Lily Collins<\/strong> as Emily) air.
