She remembered thinking, \u201cI want to be an actress. I want to be a singer. I want to go to Hollywood.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Julianne had first moved to Los Angeles<\/a> to chase her dreams, she shared an apartment with a few models, who were making a lot more money than her.<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cThey would wake up at four o\u2019clock in the afternoon and get $12,000 checks in the mail and I was getting $33 overdraft fees and hustling my butt, just trying to go to central casting and go on every audition that I could think of.\u201d<\/p>\n

At one point, Julianne couldn\u2019t pay her rent, leading her to open herself up to dancing opportunities once again. She ended up hearing from the Dancing with the Stars<\/a> producers, who offered her a spot to be a dancer on the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, okay, I\u2019ll do it,\u201d she said. \u201cI ended up doing the show and won my first two seasons back to back. It was like a ripple effect. I felt like the stars were aligned.\u201d<\/p>\n

The next few years, her career skyrocketed with music and movie deals. Despite finding the success she wanted in front of the camera, she found hardships behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dogs were killed by coyotes. My marriage [with Brooks Laich]<\/a> started unraveling, but my career, my friend group, everything that I had known really started taking a different shape,\u201d Julianne explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was very much like probably the darkest time.\u201d<\/p>\n

To get through the rough period in her life, she \u201cpoured my energy into things that brought me joy,\u201d like self-care and friendships.<\/p>\n

Julianne admitted it \u201cwas a process\u201d but she is glad it had taught her \u201cyou can\u2019t rush feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n
