HGTV star Jen Hatmaker has opened up about how she discovered her husband Brandon Hatmaker was cheating on her.<\/p>\n
She revealed that at 2:30 a.m. on July 11, 2020, she woke up to hear her husband of 26 years whispering while on the phone to another woman.<\/p>\n
She heard him saying, \u201cI just can\u2019t quit you,\u201d as he fell asleep, smelling of alcohol.<\/p>\n
Writing in her new memoir, Awake, she detailed how the shocking revelation was \u201cthe end of my life as I [knew] it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The mother-of-five and bestselling Christian author and influencer had millions of followers and readers who were totally invested in her seemingly wholesome life with her pastor husband.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The pair had founded the evangelical Austin New Church, in Texas, together in 2008. Talking to The celebrity.land<\/a> about the discovery Jen said, \u201cTo some degree, I almost disassociated. It was so outside the realm of what I would have ever considered a possibility for our life, our marriage, our story.\u201d<\/p>\n Jen then spent the following four hours searching her husband’s computer to find the \u201ctrail of betrayal.\u201d<\/p>\n Her book doesn’t share too many details of what she discovered, other than to confirm that the affair had been going on for a \u201cdevastating time span\u201d and that Brandon had spoiled his girlfriend with \u201cexpensive and lavish gifts,\u201d which had plunged her family into \u201cfinancial chaos.\u201d<\/p>\n She waited for Brandon to wakeup the next morning, and proceeded to throw him out of their house.<\/p>\n She said, \u201cIt was so shocking and stunning, and I almost could not process it.
