{"id":2041403,"date":"2025-09-22T16:43:40","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T16:43:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2041403"},"modified":"2025-09-22T16:43:40","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T16:43:40","slug":"youtube-music-recaps-five-months-of-new-features","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/youtube-music-recaps-five-months-of-new-features\/","title":{"rendered":"YouTube Music recaps five months of new features"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<figure class=\"img-border featured-image\">\n\t<\/figure>\n<p>Compared to previous years, new <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2024\/04\/01\/youtube-music-new-features\/\">feature recaps<\/a> from the YouTube Music team have slowed down in 2025, but the latest April to August edition is <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/youtubemusic\/thread\/375076277\/youtube-music-%E2%80%93-new-features-highlights-sept-2025?hl=en\">now available<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-689987\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Activity<\/strong> feed now sends notifications for Radio Builder, Sound Search, Day Segment (e.g. Workout Mix), Jump Back In, and Podcasts, while New Release alerts will appear there.<\/p>\n<p>Updates to <strong>Search<\/strong> mean that YTM results now filter out \u201cthird-party song compilations\u201d that are over 30 minutes and \u201cfeature songs entirely from other artists.\u201d Meanwhile, you\u2019ll see artist monthly audience numbers and Ask Music radio suggestions.<\/p>\n<p>When enabled, <strong>Consistent Volumes<\/strong>, or volume normalization, will adjust how loud tracks are. It aims \u201cto be consistent and match industry standards,\u201d and reduce \u201cjarring volume changes between songs and when switching between different music services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t<span class=\"outbrain-ad-label\">Advertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Podcasts<\/strong> now have 2.5 and 3x playback speed options, as well as \u201cTrim Silence\u201d (on Android).<\/p>\n<p>In May, <strong>Quick Picks<\/strong> on the Home feed was updated to suggest \u201ccontent from artists you\u2019ve recently been exposed to but haven\u2019t intentionally sought out\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Song <strong>downloads<\/strong> now include lyrics on Android and iOS, while sharing lets you send an \u201cimage containing 1-5 lines of lyrics from a song, along with a link to that song.\u201d There\u2019s also GenAI Lyrics Sharing:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u2026create personalized lyric share cards using Gen-AI. It analyzes the lyric phrases you select and then generates unique background images for each share card, significantly expanding your options for creative expression!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Then there\u2019s:<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p><strong>Continue where you left off<\/strong>: Ever get partway through a new release and forget to finish listening, or never reach the end of your gym playlist?\u00a0 The YouTube Music app now shows albums and playlists you\u2019ve only partially finished in the Speed Dial section on Home, helping you quickly pick up where you left off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Not Interested option on Web<\/strong>: Similar to the mobile app, you can now use a \u201cNot interested\u201d button on the YouTube Music website. This button is found in the context menu of items on the home page. If you click it, that item will be removed from your home page and will not be recommended to you again on Home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monthly Audience Numbers<\/strong>: If an artist has over 100,000 monthly listeners, their monthly audience count will now be included in the \u201cArtist top listener trophy\u201d badge you receive. This provides more context and recognition for your top listener status.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Custom Playlist Art on iOS<\/strong>: You can now choose a custom image to use as the thumbnail for your user-generated playlists on the iOS Music app. This feature brings iOS into parity with Android and the web, allowing for more personalization of your playlists.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p>In terms of integrations with third-party services:<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p><strong>Saving Songs from TikTok<\/strong>: YouTube Music now integrates with TikTok\u2019s music saving feature. You can save songs you discover on TikTok directly to a dedicated \u201cTikTok Songs\u201d playlist in YouTube Music, or to any other new or existing playlist. Note: The first time you use this feature, you will be prompted to grant TikTok permission to view and manage your YouTube Music library.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TuneMyMusic Integration<\/strong>: We\u2019ve partnered with TuneMyMusic to provide an in-app playlist transfer service. This includes a dedicated landing page accessible through the settings menu and Library tab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quick Access on Sony Headphones<\/strong>: YouTube Music is now integrated with Sony headphones and is launching with two features: \u201cQuick Access,\u201d which allows you to tap a button on your Sony headphones to quickly play \u201cMy Supermix,\u201d and \u201cScene-based listening,\u201d which can trigger \u201cMy Supermix\u201d playback in YouTube Music based on activity detected by the headphones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Linkplay Wiim Amp integration<\/strong>: YouTube Music is now integrated with LinkPlay on a selection of their WiiM brand of devices. This integration supports specific WiiM streamers and amplifiers, allowing users to play YouTube Music directly on these devices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Link with TV Code on Android<\/strong>: This feature, already available on other platforms, is now enabled for YouTube Music on Android.
