Matthew McConaughey<\/a> is weighing in on bedroom habits in his new book, \u201cPoems & Prayers.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n In one excerpt from his forthcoming book, the Oscar-winning actor encourages people to get rid of their king-size bed, calling it \u201cthe best thing you can do for your marriage.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n He writes, \u201cOne way to surely \/ get ahead, \/ is get rid of that \/ king-size mattress, \/ and sleep in a \/ queen-size bed.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWe have kids and we go to our friend\u2019s house and he has one of these double king-size beds put together and all the kids sleep in the bed,\u201d McConaughey said in an interview with Fox News Digital<\/a>, published over the weekend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThe wife\u2019s on one side with her side table, and the husband\u2019s on the other side and it\u2019s great when you got all three kids, but all of a sudden the kids get too big,\u201d he said. \u201cThey\u2019re out of the bed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n McConaughey said that one day it hit him that his wife was \u201clike a football field away\u201d in bed. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThen you go to bed at night, like you want to snuggle up and \u2026\u2018Well, we\u2019ve got to cover up you… Come about 12 feet and I\u2019ll come 12 feet,\u2019\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Suddenly, \u201cYou\u2019re like, man, this damn king-size bed is not good for the marriage, man,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cGet rid of that son of a bitch,\u201d he said. \u201cSo we got a queen size where we\u2019re shoulder to shoulder. I\u2019m telling you, it\u2019s good for your marriage.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n There\u2019s something to his advice, as the \u201cTrue Detective\u201d star and his wife, Camila Alves McConaughey, have been married for 13 years. The two are parents to three children: Levi, 17; Vida, 15; and Livingston, 12. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Camila has weighed in with her own relationship advice for others, though she\u2019s joked there\u2019s not really a \u201csimple, short answer!\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
