Doja Cat<\/a> is setting the record straight on how she sees her music.<\/p>\n During a sit-down with CBS News Sunday Morning<\/em>, the Grammy winner was asked which music genre best describes her sound and she offered a clear definition of it.<\/p>\n “Pop. Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n The genre clarification comes as fans gear up for her next era. Doja’s highly anticipated album Vie<\/em>is set to arrive on Sept 26, marking her first full-length release since 2023’s Scarlet<\/em>.<\/p>\n Details about the project have been kept mostly under wraps, but Doja has teased that the album will showcase her continued evolution as both a lyricist and a performer. In an interview with\u00a0V Magazine<\/em>, Doja explained that this album will see her return to her pop roots<\/a> while adding influences of ’70s music.<\/p>\n “I wanted to play with that nostalgia by using these Lo-Fi sounds and samples and things that reminded you of something from your childhood, but it wasn’t on the nose ’80s,” said Doja.<\/p>\n Doja was also locked in on finishing the album as she had to pull out of this year’s\u00a0Austin City Limits\u00a0Festival<\/a>.
