Scarlett Johansson<\/strong> impressed Katie Couric <\/strong>with her mature demeanor while meeting for the first time on the Today show in 1998.<\/p>\n The beloved talk show resurfaced a clip from the interview via Instagram on Sunday, September 21, while Scarlett, 40, was promoting the film The Horse Whisperer.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re only 13. I mean, is it hard for you to be in school and pursue this career?\u201d Katie, 68, asked the Asteroid City actress at the time.<\/p>\n Scarlett admitted that balancing her acting career and education was \u201coverwhelming\u201d and \u201cdifficult,\u201d especially when she had to get an assignment turned in by a deadline while trying to memorize her script.<\/p>\n \u201cBut, I mean, it\u2019s a dream come true. I couldn\u2019t want \u2013 I couldn\u2019t ask anything more,\u201d the Avengers star continued. \u201cYou know, you learn to work with it. And school isn\u2019t the best thing, you know. I\u2019m not like a candidate for school or anything.\u201d<\/p>\n Katie playfully asked Scarlett if she was going to be a National Merit Finalist, to which the now A-lister laughed and replied, \u201cNo, sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n Although Scarlett admitted she chose her career over school, the renowned reporter praised her for being \u201cpoised for a 13-year-old. Much more so than a lot of 50-year-olds\u201d that she interacted with.<\/p>\n \u201cI wish you all the luck in the world. Your performance in this movie is really stunning,\u201d Katie concluded. \u201cNice to meet you, Scarlett.\u201d<\/p>\n The clip brought fans back in time, with some who remembered watching the interview air live almost three decades ago.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s discussing The Horse Whisperer.
