Outkick<\/em> founder Clay Travis<\/strong> said Disney and ABC made the \u201cright decision\u201d to bring back Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s<\/strong> show, following the late-night host\u2019s incendiary comments last week where he suggested the man who killed Charlie Kirk<\/strong> was a supporter of President Donald Trump<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Travis, during an appearance on The Will Cain Show<\/em> on Fox News on Monday afternoon, reacted to the breaking news that Kimmel\u2019s suspension had been lifted. The conservative commentator said he was happy that Kimmel, despite being on the opposite side of the political spectrum from him, was not finished on network TV.<\/p>\n \u201cI would say this is the right decision, because I don\u2019t like the idea of deciding, based on one comment, that we\u2019re not going to have somebody on the air anymore, whether they\u2019re a Democrat, Republican, or an Independent,\u201d Travis said.<\/p>\n Travis then suggested Kimmel, when his show returns on Tuesday night, offer a mea culpa and say his comments about Kirk were\u00a0 \u201cill-written and poorly delivered.\u201d<\/p>\n He then said Kimmel should \u201cpledge\u201d to have a Trump voter on his show every week, considering Kimmel\u2019s show is at least nominally aiming to appeal to Americans on both sides of the aisle. Travis said it would be a \u201csmart move\u201d to start it off by having Adam Carolla<\/strong>, the podcast and radio star who Kimmel teamed up with on The Man Show,\u00a0<\/em>on the show this week, since he is one of the few celebrities who has publicly supported Trump.<\/p>\n The news of Kimmel\u2019s show returning comes after its future was in limbo for the last week, after ABC suspended Kimmel. The network suspended Kimmel for suggesting\u00a0Tyler Robinson<\/strong>, the 22-year-old suspected killer of Kirk<\/strong>, was a Trump supporter.<\/p>\n Here is what Kimmel said on his program last Monday:<\/p>\n We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n Kimmel was criticized by many for the claim, considering the reported details point to\u00a0Robinsonbeing a leftist. Robinson reportedly had a romantic relationship with his trans roommate, used\u00a0phrases associated with Antifa<\/a>, and in\u00a0text messages<\/a>\u00a0released last Tuesday, said he shot Kirk because of the conservative influencer\u2019s \u201chatred.\u201d<\/p>\n ABC suspended Kimmel on Wednesday, after\u00a0pushback from Nexstar and Sinclair<\/a>, the companies behind its biggest affiliates, and hours after FCC Chair\u00a0Brendan Carr<\/strong>\u00a0said he\u00a0felt a suspension was warranted<\/a>.<\/p>\n Karoline Leavitt<\/strong>, President Trump\u2019s press secretary, shot down the notion the government put \u201cpressure\u201d on ABC<\/a> to suspend Kimmel. But the president could not hold back, saying Kimmel\u2019s banishment was \u201cgreat news\u201d<\/a> for America.<\/p>\n Travis, meanwhile, was one of a few prominent conservatives who said he was not a fan of ABC suspending Kimmel. Last Thursday, Travis trashed the decision<\/a> and cancel culture in general.<\/p>\n \u201cThis will probably make me the only person on social media to defend Roseanne [Barr], Gina [Carano] and Jimmy. As someone who people have tried to cancel more than almost anyone in media for having \u2018unpopular\u2019 opinions, I\u2019m proud of that.
