Charlie Kirk<\/a> appears in a new documentary about Kanye West<\/a> attending a strategy meeting with the controversial rapper.<\/a><\/p>\n

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA<\/a> and a prominent voice in the conservative movement, was shot and killed earlier this month<\/a>. President Trump was among those who attended a memorial for him Sunday.<\/a><\/p>\n

He makes a brief cameo in In Whose Name?, a new film about West \u2014 now known as Ye \u2014 from 26-year-old filmmaker Nico Ballesteros which was released theatrically this week.<\/p>\n

In the footage, which dates from April 2018, Kirk and fellow conservative commentator Candace Owens<\/a> meet with Ye to discuss him image and political strategy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to show an example of a non-perfect black celeb that still wins,\u201d Ye tells Owens and Kirk. \u201cBecause, if you\u2019re a celeb and you\u2019re Black and you\u2019re perfect? You\u2019re the housekeeper.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re a glorified slave,\u201d Owens says in agreement, while Kirk concurs that Ye would look like \u201cthe help.\u201d<\/p>\n

Owens then tells Ye: \u201cCulture will always be upstream from politics. Whoever can control culture can control politics. You wearing a MAGA hat? It broke the internet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballesteros, who followed Ye for six years mostly filming on an iPhone, has referred to Kirk\u2019s presence while promoting his film, telling the celebrity.land<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s unfortunate, and may they rest in peace, but there are people in the film who are no longer here with us.\u201d<\/p>\n

The documentary\u2019s first trailer, released last month, opened with Ye declaring in a voiceover: \u201cI\u2019m off my meds for five months now.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cYour personality was not like this a few years ago,\u201d Ye\u2019s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, responds, audibly distressed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a calling by the universe,\u201d the rapper\u2019s voice continues over a montage of him in an open flatland and riding in a car next to his and Kardashian\u2019s eldest daughter, North.<\/p>\n

\u201cNever tell me one day I\u2019m gonna wake up with nothing,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n

According to an official synopsis, In Whose Name? \u201creveals a side of West the world was never meant to see \u2014 raw, unfiltered, and suspended in the complexity of fame, faith, mental health, and power.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat began as a silent observation evolved into a profound journey of artistic and personal growth,\u201d it adds. \u201cImmersed in Ye\u2019s world of extremes, [Ballesteros] bore witness to brilliance and breakdowns, triumphs and turmoil, but also observed the paranoia and intensity that increasingly shaped Ye\u2019s world.\u201d<\/p>\n
