That prompted Nexstar and Sinclair \u2014 two of the nation\u2019s largest owners of local TV stations \u2014 to announce they would be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/em> for the foreseeable future. ABC subsequently announced that Kimmel\u2019s show would be suspended indefinitely.<\/p>\n Kimmel\u2019s suspension was met with immense backlash amid concerns that it marked the latest attempt by Trump to censor dissenting voices, and yet another example of corporate capitulation to his administration.
