The suspect who was shot was hospitalized. <\/p>\n<p>Crystal Seyam, 44, from Newport News, was arrested Monday, police say. She is charged with two counts of robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony and one count of possession of burglarious tools.<\/p>\n<p>Around 4:14 a.m., an on-duty officer went into a Royal Farms in the 4000 Block of Mercury Boulevard. At the time, a robbery was in progress at the convenience store \u2014 the officer was not aware of this incident taking place upon arrival, Hampton police say.<\/p>\n<p>Based on initial gatherings, a male and female suspect were carrying out the attempted robbery. Hampton police say the male suspect, who had a firearm, was then &#8220;confronted&#8221; and shot by the officer who just entered the Royal Farms. The female suspect fled the scene but was arrested soon after nearby.<\/p>\n<p>This incident was posted on social media by Hampton police around 5:14 a.m.<\/p>\n<div class=\"HtmlModule\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hampton Police are currently investigating an officer involved shooting in the 4000 block of West Mercury Boulevard.
