Kelsea Ballerini<\/strong><\/a> and Chase Stokes<\/strong><\/a>\u2018 nearly three-year relationship came to a rocky end, a source close to the former couple exclusively tells Us Weekly<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a hard split,\u201d the insider shares. \u201cThey had been arguing a lot recently, and their communication wasn\u2019t great in the last month. They were both traveling so much and trying to juggle everything, and the arguments piled up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballerini, 32, \u201cinitiated the conversation,\u201d according to the source, but she and Stokes, 33, acted like \u201cmature adults and had the same understanding that they needed space.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballerini\u2019s rep confirmed to Us<\/em> on September 14 that the country singer and Stokes had broken up<\/a> \u2014 only two days after the Outer Banks<\/em> star posted a gushing tribute to his \u201clove\u201d<\/a> via Instagram for her birthday.<\/p>\n

Stokes was the first person Ballerini dated since her 2022 divorce from fellow musician Morgan Evans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
