With 10 days to go until the release of both Taylor Swift\u2019s new album, \u2018The Life of a Showgirl\u2019 and her recently announced film,\u00a0The Official Release Party of a Showgirl<\/strong><\/a>, Swifties are gearing up to make October all about TayTay.<\/p>\n

The pop superstar’s upcoming twelfth album – which follows her\u00a0zeitgeist-dominating Eras Tour<\/strong><\/a> and last year\u2019s release of \u2018The Tortured Poets Department<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 –\u00a0has already become\u00a0the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history<\/strong><\/a>, and the 89-minute theatrical event follows\u00a0Swift’s Eras Tour concert film<\/strong><\/a>, which broke records when it hit cinemas in 2023.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the new film are available to buy as of today and as per Deadline<\/strong><\/a>, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl has already grossed $15 million (\u20ac12.7m)\u00a0in tickets in its first 24 hours of going on pre-sale.<\/p>\n

The outlet also reports that the film\u2019s sole weekend in cinemas (from Friday 3 October to Sunday 5 October) is estimated to gross somewhere between $30 million to $50 million (\u20ac25.4m to \u20ac42.3m).<\/p>\n

As impressive as these numbers are, they seem on point, as Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour<\/strong><\/a> became the highest-grossing concert movie of all time, with a reported gross of $267.1 million (\u20ac226.3m) worldwide.<\/p>\n

The Official Release Party of a Showgirl will see the premiere of the first music video from the album for \u2018The Fate of Ophelia\u2019, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot, lyric videos for other songs on the album and Swift\u2019s \u201cnever-before-seen personal reflections\u201d about those new songs.<\/p>\n

Countries including the UK, France, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark will be treated to the cinematic event \u2013 with tickets currently on sale.<\/p>\n

Sharing the news on Instagram, Swift wrote that \u201cdancing is optional but very much encouraged.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift has described her new LP\u00a0as \u201cthe record I\u2019ve been wanting to make for a very long time\u201d and confirmed that the project focuses on \u201cwhat was going on behind the scenes in my inner life\u201d during the\u00a0record-breaking Eras Tour<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n
