Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston are a breeze to work with, according to \u201cThe Morning Show\u201d director, Mimi Leder, who shared it\u2019s \u201cincredible\u201d directing the two superstars.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, they\u2019re incredibly smart humans,\u201d Leder exclusively told The Post. \u201cAnd they come completely prepared.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leder, 73, explained that the actresses, who play frenemies<\/a> at a fictional television station, go over the scripts together, so by the time they come to set, we \u201cknow where we\u2019re going.\u201d<\/p>\n

And once Leder turns the camera on, it\u2019s electric.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the two of them are together on the screen, in your frame, it is an extraordinary moment because they\u2019re so watchable,\u201d she shared. \u201cThe chemistry is palpable, it\u2019s just so breathing, it\u2019s so alive.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Apple+ series has always stayed atop current events \u2014 kicking off in Season 1 with a #MeToo storyline and has gone on to examine the COVID-19 pandemic, the Capitol insurrection, and Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Leder confessed that as much as she enjoys directing the series, \u201cit\u2019s not easy because the subject matter is very complicated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPolitically, emotionally. And that\u2019s what makes it very challenging and fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Emmy winner noted that the current season has women taking over power, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s a very interesting dynamic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd of course, you know, the world is insane and our show reflects all of that, power, loyalty, deep fakes,\u201d the \u201cOn the Basis of Sex\u201d director continued. \u201cWe try and do it in our way, you know, hopefully entertaining through, you know, through the dark humor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leder, who has been directing for decades, shares that she\u2019s been told a lot of \u201cweird things\u201d over the years, but there is one question that drives her to distraction.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just a ridiculous question,\u201d Leder fumed, adding that it\u2019s never posed to a male director.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re here to tell the story, to create dreams and take you on journeys,\u201d she said. \u00a0\u201cAnd what I bring to the party is me, and that\u2019s, yes, my femaleness. It\u2019s my everything.\u201d<\/p>\n
