Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as Elphaba and Glinda in the first Wicked movie Universal<\/span><\/p>\n The tornado that was Wicked<\/span> fever is set to cause even more bedlam later this year, when the long-awaited sequel arrives in cinemas.<\/span><\/p>\n Cynthia Erivo<\/span> and Ariana Grande<\/span> will reprise their roles as Elphaba and Glinda in the new film Wicked For Good, which will bring the events of the original Broadway musical\u2019s second half to the big screen.<\/span><\/p>\n And while the first Wicked movie was praised for staying mostly true to the source material, it\u2019s already well-documented<\/a> that Wicked For Good will be making more sizeable changes.<\/span><\/p>\n In addition to new songs for both Cynthia and Ariana<\/a>, not to mention a major tweak to the way Nessarose\u2019s story arc plays out<\/a>, it\u2019s already been revealed that Dorothy will also be introduced in Wicked For Good<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n While the iconic Wizard Of Oz character is repeatedly referred to off-stage in the Wicked musical on both Broadway and the West End, she\u2019s never actually seen.<\/span><\/p>\n However, it was teased last year that the character will seemingly have a bigger role to play in Wicked For Good<\/a>, which Cynthia and Ariana have now lifted the lid on during an interview with Empire<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande at the premiere of Wicked last year via Associated Press<\/span><\/p>\n The magazine has clarified that Dorothy is \u201cnot exactly\u201d a \u201ccharacter in the film\u201d, and will instead be seen \u201c<\/span>largely from a distance, or from behind\u201d, which Cynthia said was a \u201cwonderful\u201d approach \u201cbecause then everyone gets to keep the Dorothy that they know\u201d from other Wizard Of Oz adaptations.<\/span><\/p>\n Ariana also shared: \u201cI love the little bit of shadiness that Glinda has towards Dorothy. There\u2019s a lot going on, and she doesn\u2019t really have time to deal with this.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cShe could have told her to take the Emerald City train! But she didn\u2019t.
