Jimmy Kimmel is headed back to late-night\u2014and MAGA isn\u2019t happy.<\/p>\n
The late-night host was indefinitely suspended last week for a comment he made criticizing the response of President Donald Trump\u2019s political base to Charlie Kirk\u2019s death, noting their desperation to \u201ccharacterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n In fact, Republicans started doing that the same day Kirk was shot, casting <\/span>blame on the left<\/a> and the <\/span>transgender community<\/a> before the shooter was even identified. Kimmel\u2019s remark about MAGA comments wasn\u2019t a claim about the identity of the shooter; it was a well-documented fact.<\/span><\/p>\n Now MAGA is fuming at the news that he\u2019ll return to his desk so soon. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cMust be nice to be a leftist. \u2018Cancellation\u2019 lasts 5 nights and you\u2019re right back under klieg lights. On the right you\u2019re underground,\u201d Megyn Kelly <\/span>wrote on X<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n NBC permanently <\/span>canceled<\/a> Kelly\u2019s show in 2018 after she made remarks defending the use of blackface in Halloween costumes. Now she\u2019s been banished to the underground: a daily radio show on SiriusXM.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWorst fascism ever,\u201d right-wing commentator Stephen L. Miller <\/span>wrote on X<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n RawStory<\/a> reported that several MAGA commenters were angry at the left\u2019s outrage over Kimmel\u2019s apparently temporary cancellation. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cJimmy Kimmel is going back on air tomorrow night. Is fascism over? LOL,\u201d wrote Chris Barron, president of Right Turn Strategies, <\/span>on X<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cTrump isn\u2019t fascisting that well. But the left would have you believe Kimmel has been thrown in prison,\u201d wrote an account called Liju Kurian <\/span>on X<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n But Kimmel\u2019s censorship isn\u2019t over. <\/span><\/p>\n Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns <\/span>38 ABC-affiliate stations<\/a>, wasn\u2019t too pleased either. The company said it would replace Kimmel\u2019s show with news programming until \u201cformal discussions are held with ABC regarding the network\u2019s commitment to professionalism and accountability.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
