Producer Andrew Watt has confirmed he\u2019s reunited to work with The Rolling Stones<\/a> on follow-up material to Hackney Diamonds<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Watt, whose esteemed resum\u00e9 also includes work with Pearl Jam, Post Malone and the late Ozzy Osbourne, helped The Rolling Stones win the Grammy for \u2018Best Rock Album\u2019 when they joined forces on 2023\u2019s Hackney Diamonds<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em>, the producer said of teaming up with the rock legends once again: \u201cI\u2019ve said it before, but it\u2019s like working for Batman.\u201d<\/p>\n

While he didn\u2019t delve into detail about what the project entails, Watt added, \u201cWhen the tongue is up in the air, you just go\u2026 I can say we did some recording together, but that\u2019s all I can say.\u201d<\/p>\n

In June,\u00a0it was reported<\/a>\u00a0that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Steve Jordan have been busy working on a follow-up to 2023\u2019s\u00a0Hackney Diamonds<\/em>\u00a0since April. It was claimed they had made 13 songs for the record at Metropolis Studios in Chiswick, West London, after shelving plans to hit the road this summer.<\/p>\n

Then, in a recently published interview<\/a> with Keith Richards\u2019 son, Marlon, which was conducted in May, he confirmed this to be true. He told Record Collector:<\/em> \u201cThey\u2019re in Chiswick or somewhere like that; I think they\u2019re nearly done. They still maintain these ridiculous hours: after lunch until, like, two in the morning. I\u2019d rather be somewhere else at that time of night! Unless you\u2019re in it, it\u2019s pretty boring.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about their upcoming project, Marlon said, \u201cI guess an album \u2013 they have enough left over from the last one.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also said the Grammy win has reinvigorated them creatively, sharing, \u201cThey gave them a Grammy, so now they\u2019re all hyped up on that: \u2018Oh, yeah \u2013 we can do another one like that! We\u2019ve got more like that if you want\u2026\u2019. I think they\u2019re doing the follow-up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Watt previously revealed<\/a> in February, following their victory at the Grammys, that The Rolling Stones had music leftover from the Hackney Diamonds sessions. However, the producer made it clear that it wasn\u2019t up to him whether it would be finished.<\/p>\n

He said on the Rolling Stone Music Now<\/em> podcast, \u201cI can\u2019t tell you if [another album\u2019s] gonna happen or not. It\u2019s up to them, but it would be great\u2026 Why not finish the material, you know.\u201d<\/p>\n
