SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The Shreveport City Council is expected to make a decision at its regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 23 on the new Film and Entertainment Gateway Economic Development District. <\/p>\n

The new ordinance, if passed, would create the district and a new tax within that district. The funds from the tax would be used to finance economic development projects within the newly formed district.<\/p>\n

FROM THE CITY COUNCIL AGENDA<\/b><\/p>\n

An ordinance of the Shreveport City Council creating an economic development district within the City of Shreveport to be named the \u201cFilm and Entertainment Gateway Economic Development District\u201d (the \u201cDistrict\u201d); defining the boundaries thereof from which certain area local and potentially state sales and use tax increments will be determined and used to finance economic development projects within the District, and as authorized by Part II of Chapter 27 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, as amended (The \u201cAct\u201d); and providing for other matters in connection with the foregoing (not to be adopted prior to public hearing on September 23, 2025)<\/i><\/p>\n
