Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs<\/a>\u2019<\/strong> legal team doesn\u2019t want to waste time in getting the disgraced music mogul out from behind bars.<\/p>\n

In a sentencing memo filed late Monday, September 22, attorneys for the 55-year-old argued that Combs\u2019 acquittal on sex trafficking charges should factor into a reduced sentence, noting that the probation office has recommended a punishment exceeding seven years.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the past two years, Mr. Combs\u2019s career and reputation have been destroyed,\u201d the filing obtained by Page Six<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday, September 23, stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has served over a year in one of the most notorious jails in America \u2013 yet has made the most of that punishment,\u201d the filing continued. \u201cIt is time for Mr. Combs to go home to his family, so he can continue his treatment and try to make the most of the next chapter of his extraordinary life.\u201d<\/p>\n

His attorneys maintained that Combs had already endured \u201cjust punishment\u201d while held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, citing harsh conditions that included suicide watch, restricted access to clean water and limited food options.<\/p>\n

\u201cConsidering these conditions, Mr. Combs\u2019s time served has already been substantially more punitive than the average time served by other defendants convicted under the Mann Act, and a sentence of no more than 14 months is sufficient \u2018just punishment,\u2019\u201d the memo read.<\/p>\n

The filing also noted his participation in treatment programs and said his behavior had \u201cmarkedly improved\u201d while incarcerated.<\/p>\n

More than 75 letters of support were submitted alongside the request, including statements from Combs\u2019 mother, Janice Combs<\/strong>, his six children and ex-girlfriend Caresha \u201cYung Miami\u201d Brownlee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Another letter came from Virginia \u201cGina\u201d Huynh<\/strong><\/a>, who previously accused him of assault.<\/p>\n

A jury convicted Combs on July 2 of two counts of prostitution. Each charge carried a maximum of 10 years. Testimony during the trial included allegations from former partner Casandra \u201cCassie\u201d Ventura<\/strong>, who told jurors she was raped and abused by the \u201cMo\u2019 Money Mo\u2019 Problems\u201d rapper.<\/p>\n

Combs is set to be sentenced October 3. He continues to face dozens of civil lawsuits from men and women alleging sexual misconduct and other illegal activity, all of which he has denied.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
