Estefan and her husband, producer Emilio Estefan, are strong supporters and frequent collaborators with the Frost School.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Two other Frost School alumnae figured in the artist categories. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/isadorafigueroa?fbclid=IwY2xjawM6U-dleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFDOTViS0pGanBLR2YwbmZpAR6CwELb39b2kOhlcL5jJfpneYyffw6r31L60NifBQqH0WUlSfH3LFyezNUJNA_aem_U3NXVXBxRbYoJM-B0CXaWw\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Isadora Figueroa<\/a> (B.M. \u201922), a music industry major who minored in songwriting, was nominated for Best New Artist, an honor that can be a bellwether of future success. Figueroa, whose latest song is \u201cHierba Mala,\u201d is the daughter of Puerto Rican pop star Chayanne.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.miami.edu\/frost\/stories\/2025\/03\/raquel-sofia.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Raquel Sof\u00eda<\/a> (B.M. \u201809), a jazz vocal major whose performance was one of the highlights of the Centennial Celebration <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.miami.edu\/frost\/stories\/2025\/04\/april8-wrap-up.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">concert<\/a> last April, is nominated for Best Traditional Pop Album for \u201cDespu\u00e9s De Los 30\u201d (After 30). This is the fourth Latin GRAMMY nomination for Sof\u00eda, who was nominated for Best New Artist in 2015, Best Singer-Songwriter Album in 2018, and Best Pop Song in 2020.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/julioreyescopello.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Julio Reyes Copello<\/a> (M.M. \u201900), a producer, composer, and songwriter who is a powerhouse in Latin music, adds two more nominations to his previous <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latingrammy.com\/en\/artists\/julio-reyes-copello\/22259-01\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">54 Latin GRAMMY nominations<\/a> (leading to nine awards). This year, Copello is nominated for Album of the Year for buzzed about pop singer-songwriter Joaquina\u2019s \u201cal romper la burbuja\u201d (bursting the bubble), and for Best Roots Song for \u201cJard\u00edn del Para\u00edso,\u201d by Monsieur Perin\u00e9 featuring Bejuco. (The Miami-raised Joaquina, who is Venezuelan-American, was mentored at Copello\u2019s Art House Academy in Miami and won the award for Best New Artist in 2023.)<\/p>\n<p>Natalia Ram\u00edrez (M.A. \u201917), an audio engineer who has worked at Copello\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/arthouseacademy.com\/our-team\/julio-reyes-copello\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Art House<\/a> studio and school, also shared in the Album of the Year nomination for \u201cal romper la burbuja.\u201d\u00a0 Ram\u00edrez has won three Latin GRAMMYs, including for Record of the Year, and has been nominated 25 times.<\/p>\n<p>Another alum featuring significantly in this year\u2019s nominations is <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.miami.edu\/frost\/stories\/2020\/01\/alumnus-producer-federico-vindver-credits-his-chart-topping-success-to-frost.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Federico Vindver<\/a> (B.M. \u201908), an Argentine producer and songwriter who\u2019s nominated for Producer of the Year. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/monomusicgroup.com\/clients\/federico-vindver\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Vindver<\/a>, who has worked with a long list of major mainstream and Latin artists, including Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Marc Anthony, and Pitbull, has seven other Latin GRAMMY nominations this year. They include two for Record of the Year, for CA7RIEL &amp; Paco Amoroso\u2019s \u201cEl D\u00eda Del Amigo\u201d and \u201c#Tetas,\u201d and Album of the Year for CA7RIEL &amp; Paco Amoroso\u2019s \u201cPapota.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/daniel-flores-7878181b\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Danny Flores<\/a> (M.A. \u201822), also shares in the Album of the Year nomination for \u201cPapota\u201d as one of its producers, his second following his 2018 nomination for Best Urban Music Album.
