Producer Andrew Watt<\/a> has confirmed that he\u2019s reunited with The Rolling Stones<\/a> on their upcoming new album.<\/p>\n Watt produced their Grammy-winning 24th studio album, \u2018Hackney Diamonds\u2019<\/a>, in 2023, while he\u2019s also worked with the likes of Elton John<\/a>, Lady Gaga<\/a> and Ed Sheeran<\/a> over the past couple of years. His confirmation comes months after the first reports that he was again working with the Stones<\/a>.<\/p>\n He told Rolling Stone<\/i><\/a> of working with the rock icons again, \u201cI\u2019ve said it before, but it\u2019s like working for Batman.\u201d<\/p>\n He didn\u2019t go into too many details, explaining, \u201cWhen the tongue is up in the air, you just go\u2026 I can say we did some recording together, but that\u2019s all I can say.\u201d<\/p>\n For his part, Watt said told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> February that the Stones had music leftover from their \u2018Hackney Diamonds\u2019 sessions. He explained that, while it would be up to the band whether the material would be finished, \u201cit would be great\u201d, adding, \u201c\u200aIt was a prolific time for the band. They had amassed, like, 18 years of material. There was so much to go through and choose from initially, and then there were new songs that just came because everyone was rolling and kind of flying.\u201d<\/p>\n It was reported a couple of months later that the band had been working on a new album since April, completing 13 songs at Chiswick\u2019s Metropolis Studios. And earlier this month, guitarist Keith Richard\u2019s son Marlon shared that the band were working on a new album<\/a>, describing it as being \u201cnearly done\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re in town right now, recording,\u201d he said in an interview for the Rolling Stones edition of Record Collector<\/em><\/a>, conducted back in May. \u201cThey\u2019re in Chiswick [West London] or somewhere like that; I think they\u2019re nearly done. They still maintain these ridiculous hours: after lunch until, like, two in the morning. I\u2019d rather be somewhere else at that time of night! Unless you\u2019re in it, it\u2019s pretty boring.\u201d<\/p>\n When pressed on what the band were working on, Richards said: \u201cI guess an album \u2013 they have enough left over from the last one,\u201d Richards replied.<\/p>\n \u201cThey gave them a Grammy<\/a>, so now they\u2019re all hyped up on that: \u2018Oh, yeah \u2013 we can do another one like that! We\u2019ve got more like that if you want\u2026\u2019. I think they\u2019re doing the He added that he thought his dad\u2019s band were \u201cplanning a tour of Europe\u201d. They toured US stadiums last year, but earlier this year, reports came out that The Rolling Stones had abandoned plans to go on tour in the UK and Europe<\/a> because of scheduling issues, and there have been a lot of rumours of a 2026 European tour in the works instead.<\/p>\n They last played the UK in 2022, when two huge BST Hyde Park gigs<\/a> followed a stadium show at Liverpool\u2019s Anfield<\/a>.<\/p>\n
