Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/a><\/em>\u2019s Plastics Posse was set to ride again at the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards<\/a> earlier this month, as Eric Dane<\/a> was scheduled to present an award alongside former costar Jesse Williams<\/a>. Unfortunately, Dane wasn\u2019t able to make the ceremony<\/a>, so Williams presented the Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series award solo.<\/p>\n Fans rushed to wish Dane comfort and strength during his ALS treatment<\/a>, and now we\u2019re celebrating his Grey\u2019s <\/em>legacy across nine seasons of the ABC<\/a> medical drama. Here are our picks for his best moments as Dr. Mark \u201cMcSteamy\u201d Sloan. (Spoilers ahead!)<\/strong><\/p>\n We see a softer side of Mark Sloan in the eighth-season installment \u201cWhat Is It About Men,\u201d as he takes care of Sofia, his child with Callie (Sara Ramirez<\/a>) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw<\/a>). Cue many new-dad misadventures, including his funny reaction to an unexpected rollover. (And yet it was Jackson with whom Mark was paternalistic in that episode!)<\/p>\n When Mark sees Derek (Patrick Dempsey<\/a>) riding the elevator with ex-wife Addison (Kate Walsh<\/a>), ex-girlfriend Meredith (Ellen Pompeo<\/a>), and current flame Rose (Lauren Stamile<\/a>), he cracks up\u2026 and then cracks wise. \u201cBet you wish you\u2019d taken the stairs right about now,\u201d he tells Derek in a stage whisper.<\/p>\n Not only does Mark shield Lexie (Chyler Leigh<\/a>) from gunfire in the two-part Season 6 finale, \u201cSanctuary\u201d & \u201cDeath and All His Friends,\u201d but he also helps her save Alex\u2019s (Justin Chambers<\/a>) life, even though he\u2019s clearly still in love with her and she\u2019s dating Alex. And Mark continues said lifesaving measures even as Lexie declares her love for his romantic rival.<\/p>\n In Season 5\u2019s \u201cStairway to Heaven,\u201d Mark and Lexie are having an on-call room assignation when he suffers a penile fracture in the heat of the moment. But four episodes later, he assures her that she\u2019s done more good than harm. \u201cYou think you broke me, Little Grey?\u201d he says. \u201cYou\u2019re the one who put me back together.\u201d<\/p>\n After umpteen romantic complications \u2014 including the arrival of his hitherto-unknown daughter Sloan (Leven Rambin<\/a>) \u2014 Mark reaffirms his love for Lexie in Season 6\u2019s \u201cShiny Happy People,\u201d just one episode before the calamitous season finale.
