Season 34 of Dancing With the Stars<\/em> kicked off just last week, but there\u2019s already plenty of drama happening behind the scenes<\/a>.<\/p>\n Former DWTS<\/em> pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy<\/strong> recently opened up about some of the pairings and said that his sister-in-law, Jenna Johnson<\/strong> \u2014 who is married to his younger brother, Val Chmerkovskiy<\/strong> \u2014 is struggling to work with her partner, Corey Feldman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cAll the cast show up, you know, all smiles and say how great they are together and \u2018we\u2019re friends\u2019 and blah, blah, blah, but that\u2019s surface. Sometimes it\u2019s not the case,\u201d Chmerkovskiy, 45, told the Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Tuesday, September 23. \u201cObviously, Jenna has a bit of an uphill climb with Corey, which is easy for everybody to say from [outside], but I know that she\u2019s having a much more difficult time with this entire thing and to the point that it is really difficult for her.\u201d<\/p>\n While some have speculated that Feldman\u2019s age of 54 might be a factor in why Johnson, 31, is having such a hard time, Chmerkovskiy said that wasn\u2019t the case.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that it\u2019s a combination [of technique and work ethic],\u201d he explained. \u201cMaybe it\u2019s not such a comfort zone for him. Don\u2019t forget this production is not just about you and your partner dancing, it\u2019s about this massive behemoth of everything that\u2019s happening \u2013 the amount of people that you have to deal with, the amount of interviews, and this is all between your rehearsal time and your therapy, and you are trying to lick your wounds and all that stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n
