Just five days after \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d was indefinitely suspended<\/a>, the Walt Disney Company announced the show\u2019s return<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cLast Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive,\u201d the company said in a statement on Sept. 22.<\/p>\n But not everyone will be able to watch on their local ABC affiliate.<\/p>\n Two media groups\u00a0\u2014\u00a0Sinclair and Nexstar\u00a0\u2014 said they would still preempt the show from their airways.<\/p>\n In Austin,\u00a0Sinclair operates KEYE while Nexstar is currently the operator of KXAN, KBVO and KNVA. The groups operate 39 and 20 ABC affiliate stations, respectively.<\/p>\n Austin\u2019s ABC affiliate, KVUE, is currently operated by Tegna but will be operated by Nexstar once its proposed $6.2 billion merger is approved by the FCC. The merger means Kimmel\u2019s fate on KVUE is unclear.<\/p>\n Regardless, Austinites will still be able to watch Kimmel\u2019s return. Here\u2019s how.<\/p>\n Even though \u201cJimmy\u00a0Kimmel Live!\u201d may not be available to watch on your ABC affiliate channel,\u00a0there are still ways to stream the late-night talk show.<\/p>\n DirecTV, Fubo, YouTube TV\u00a0and Hulu+ Live allow you to stream ABC live. The Sept. 23 episode is expected to be available for streaming on Hulu starting Sept. 24.<\/p>\n \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d airs weeknights at 10:35 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s late-night show was suspended indefinitely<\/a> by ABC on Sept. 17 following comments the comedian made about Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassination, according to the Associated Press.<\/p>\n \u201cMr. Kimmel\u2019s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse, and we do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views, or values of the local communities in which we are located,\u201d said Andrew Alford, President of Nexstar\u2019s broadcasting division.<\/p>\n The decision prompted backlash from the public, with many boycotting Disney by canceling their\u00a0subscriptions to Disney+ and Hulu.<\/p>\n Sinclair said in a statement last week<\/a> it would not be returning the show to the air until its leaders are confident that \u201cappropriate steps have been taken to uphold the standards expected of a national broadcast platform.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSinclair also calls upon Mr. Kimmel to issue a direct apology to the Kirk family,\u201d the statement said. \u201cFurthermore, we ask Mr. Kimmel to make a meaningful personal donation to the Kirk Family and Turning Point USA.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,\u201d Kimmel said in his Sept. 15 monologue.<\/p>\n Watch the monologue here:<\/a><\/p>\n \nHow to watch ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ in Austin, Texas<\/h2>\n
