Mega-producer Andrew Watt<\/a><\/strong> has confirmed that the Rolling Stones<\/a> are indeed working on a new album.<\/p>\n Watt\u2019s confirmation comes after Keith Richards<\/a><\/strong>\u2019 son, Marlon<\/strong>, revealed to Record Collector<\/em><\/a>in a May interview that was just recently published that the band were \u201cnearly done\u201d with recording in London.<\/p>\n \ud83c\udfac <\/strong>SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox<\/strong><\/a> \ud83c\udfac<\/strong><\/p>\n Watt told Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em> magazine that he has been in the studio with the band, whose last album 2023\u2019s Hackney Diamonds <\/em>earned the veteran group a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve said it before, but it\u2019s like working for Batman,\u201d Watt told the outlet.\u00a0 \u201cWhen the tongue is up in the air, you just go\u2026 I can say we did some recording together, but that\u2019s all I can say.\u201d<\/p>\n Marlon Richards had a bit more to say, also revealing that the band has plans to tour Europe next year.<\/p>\n \u201cThey gave them a Grammy, so now they\u2019re all hyped up on that,\u201d Marlon told Record Collector<\/em>.\u00a0 \u2018Oh, yeah \u2013 we can do another one like that! We\u2019ve got more like that if you want.’\u201d<\/p>\n It should be noted that the Stones aren\u2019t getting any younger. The band\u2019s two surviving original members Richards and singer Mick Jagger<\/a><\/strong> are currently 81 and 82, respectively. Drummer Charlie Watts<\/a><\/strong> died on Aug. 24, 2021 at the age of 80. Original bassist Bill Wyman<\/strong>, who left the band in 1993, is 88. Guitarist Ronnie Wood<\/a><\/strong>, who joined the band in 1975, is 78 years old.<\/p>\n In an earlier interview, Watt confirmed that the band has several leftover songs from the sessions that spawned Hackney Diamonds. <\/em>\u201cIt was a prolific time for the band,\u201d the producer told Rolling Stone New Music Now<\/a>. <\/em>\u201cThey had amassed, like, 18 years of material. There was so much to go through and choose initially, and then there were new songs that just came because everyone was rolling and king of flying,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Lest anyone think an album composed primarily of leftover tracks from previous album sessions will be a subpar effort should revisit the Stones\u2019 last chart-topping album, Tattoo You<\/a><\/em>.
