While some celebrities are cheering<\/a> for the return of Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a>after its short-lived hiatus, not everyone finds the comeback cause for celebration. Comedian Roseanne Barr<\/strong><\/a> has a direct message for ABC<\/a> \u2014 and she\u2019s not holding back.<\/p>\n In an interview with NewsNation, Barr, 72, called out the network for what she believes is a clear case of double standards. The broadcaster reinstated Kimmel\u2019s late-night show<\/a> after a brief suspension, a move that didn\u2019t sit well with Barr, who\u2019s still grappling with the fallout from her own public controversy with the same network.<\/p>\n \u201cI got my whole life ruined, no forgiveness and all of my work stolen and called a racist for time and eternity, for racially misgendering someone,\u201d Barr said. \u201cIt just shows how they think. It\u2019s a double standard.\u201d<\/p>\n The comedian\u2019s frustration stems from ABC\u2019s 2018 cancellation of her Roseanne<\/a> reboot. The decision followed her now-infamous tweets about Valerie Jarrett<\/strong>, the previous senior advisor to former President Barack Obama<\/strong><\/a>. In those tweets, Barr likened Jarrett to the \u201cMuslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes,\u201d drawing widespread backlash. The network quickly cut ties with Barr and rebranded the show as The Conners<\/a>, excluding her from any involvement.<\/p>\n Barr later apologized publicly, claiming she believed Jarrett was white. \u201cI apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans,\u201d she wrote at the time. \u201cI am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.\u201d<\/p>\n Since then, Barr has remained a controversial figure and an outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>. In her latest comments, she didn\u2019t just criticize ABC \u2014 she took aim at Kimmel, too.<\/p>\n \u201cI think he\u2019ll cheer himself on and his fans, all what is it, 2,000 of them,\u201d she said sarcastically. \u201cThey\u2019ll feel heartened and, you know, like they won another battle against Trump and the people of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n The Emmy-winning<\/a> actress also claimed her contributions to television history, and feminism, have been wiped out in the aftermath of the scandal.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been erased from history, from the history of feminism, which that cracks me up,\u201d Barr said. \u201cI\u2019m never mentioned in anything about women who are pioneers in media.
