KT Tunstall<\/a> is celebrating two decades since her breakthrough debut album Eye To The Telescope<\/em> with a brand-new single, \u2018Cancerian\u2019, lifted from the album\u2019s forthcoming 20th anniversary reissue Eye To The Telescope: The Stargazer Edition<\/em> (out October 31 via BMG).<\/p>\n Co-written with Tommy D (Beyonc\u00e9, Adele) and produced by Grammy nominee Robert Adam Stevenson, \u2018Cancerian\u2019 is classic KT \u2013 gritty guitar riffs, a foot-stomping beat and a big hook-laden chorus \u2013 with a wink of humour thrown in.<\/p>\n The track balances introspective folk with bluesy swagger, channelling the push-and-pull of Tunstall\u2019s star sign. \u201c\u2018Cancerian\u2019 is written from that middle ground of awe and skepticism, and pokes some gentle fun at anyone being sure of how the future will turn out,\u201d the artist explains.<\/p>\n The single lands alongside one of her \u201cfavourite videos ever,\u201d an animated clip by Amy Lucas that reimagines the zodiac as a surreal star-sign boxing match. It\u2019s also the second of three unearthed songs set to appear on The Stargazer Edition<\/em>, alongside \u2018Anything At All\u2019 and the title track \u2018Eye To The Telescope\u2019.<\/p>\n First released in 2004, Eye To The Telescope<\/em> propelled Tunstall to global stardom with hits like \u2018Black Horse and the Cherry Tree\u2019 and \u2018Suddenly I See\u2019 (immortalised on the opening credits of The Devil Wears Prada<\/em>). The record went multi-platinum, netted BRIT and Ivor Novello Awards, Grammy nods and \u2013 more recently \u2013 an Outstanding Song Collection Award at The Ivors.<\/p>\n The reissue will arrive as a collector\u2019s edition on vinyl and CD, with rare B-sides, live recordings, and the three newly completed songs, also packaged digitally as a standalone Stargazer EP<\/em>.
