href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/merlin\">Merlin<\/a> Entertainments. <\/p>\n<p>The Danish toy giant stated the purchase of the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/lego\">Lego<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/legoland\">Legoland<\/a> branded discovery centres is part of its strategy to expand the brand\u2019s retail presence. <\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/merlin\">Merlin<\/a>, which also owns <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/alton-towers\">Alton Towers<\/a>, currently manages these sites, featuring Lego building zones, creative workshops, and retail outlets. <\/p>\n<p>These centres are located across nine countries, including two in the UK (<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/birmingham\">Birmingham<\/a> and Manchester), with a significant presence in the US, attracting approximately five million visitors annually. <\/p>\n<p>The deal is anticipated to conclude by the end of the year. <\/p>\n<p>It does not include <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/legoland\">Legoland<\/a> Resorts, such as Legoland in <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"
