Though there is plenty of competition, the ongoing Thursday night series at the P\u00e9rez Art Museum of Miami<\/a> (PAMM) is among the most consistently magical evenings in the city: Not only do the museum galleries and caf\u00e9 stay open an extra three hours, but the waterfront terrace overlooking Biscayne Bay opens up to live music and cultural activations ranging from figure drawing and yoga to book speed dating and floating films projected onto a waterborne 60-foot screen.<\/p>\n This Thursday, the museum kicks off its fall PAMMSonic DJ series with a free performance by Hong Kong DJ, producer, and cultural researcher Gia Fu<\/a>, whose National Hispanic Heritage Month set will lean heavily on her \u201cdeep-rooted work in Afro-Latin music, particularly salsa and its associated rhythms.\u201d (Some may also remember Fu as the opener on Marc Anthony\u2019s sold-out 2023 Viviendo tour dates.)<\/p>\n The cultural fusion is par for the course for Fu, who also spearheads the multidisciplinary Canton Mambo<\/a> project, which connects communities through \u201cmusic, dance, and cultural exchange.\u201d Bonus: Fu\u2019s 7-9 p.m. set will be preceded by a 6 p.m. guided Pride tour inside the museum and happy hour specials at the Verde caf\u00e9.\u00a0<\/p>\n PAMMSonic continues October 23 with international DJ Walshy Fire<\/a>, who will perform a set of reggae, dancehall, and Afro-diasporic beats after a book launch for Lee Jaffe, whose Hit Me with the Music<\/em><\/a> <\/em>details his life and times on the road with Bob Marley and the Wailers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
