The University of Scranton is a top 10 college in its region with nationally ranked academic programs and distinction for innovation and support for veterans, according to U.S. News and World Report<\/em>.<\/p>\n The publication\u2019s 2026 Best Colleges report<\/a>, published Tuesday, ranked The University of Scranton No. 8 in the Regional Universities (North)<\/a><\/strong> category. U.S. News<\/em> has ranked Scranton in the top 10 in its category for an astounding 32 consecutive years.<\/p>\n Two of Scranton\u2019s academic programs ranked among the top 40 in the nation. Scranton placed No. 38 <\/strong>in \u201cBest Undergraduate Programs in Analytics\u201d<\/strong> and No. 40 <\/strong>in \u201cBest Undergraduate Programs in Accounting.\u201d <\/strong>The University also tied for 135th<\/strong> in \u201cBest Undergraduate Nursing Programs,\u201d tied for 162nd <\/strong>in \u201cBest Undergraduate Engineering Programs\u201d <\/strong>and tied for 254th <\/strong>in \u201cBest Undergraduate Business Programs.\u201d <\/strong>Scranton also tied for 410th <\/strong>in \u201cBest Undergraduate Computer Science Programs.\u201d <\/strong>National rankings reflect the results of peer surveys used to identify programs of high academic quality.<\/p>\n The University achieved high marks in several regional categories, including No. 3 <\/strong>in \u201cBest Colleges for Veterans,\u201d <\/strong>a selection of schools recognized for making higher education more accessible and affordable for veterans and active-duty service members. Scranton ranks No. 9<\/strong> in \u201cBest Undergraduate Teaching,\u201d <\/strong>which recognizes schools\u2019 strong commitment to teaching undergraduates rather than conducting graduate-level research. Scranton tied for 13th<\/strong> in \u201cMost Innovative Schools,\u201d<\/strong> which identifies institutions making innovative improvements in curriculum, personnel, campus life, technology or facilities.<\/p>\n The University placed 55th<\/strong> on U.S. News\u2019 <\/em>\u201cBest Value Regional Universities (North).\u201d <\/strong>Scranton also tied for 106th <\/strong>in \u201cTop Performers on Social Mobility,\u201d<\/strong> which examines the success of schools that enroll and graduate students who were awarded Pell Grants.<\/p>\n U.S. News<\/em> uses numerous data points to rank bachelor\u2019s degree colleges in America, including graduation rate and graduation rate performance; retention rates; borrower debt; peer assessments; faculty salaries; student-faculty ratio; financial resources; standardized test performance; and Pell Grant student graduation rates and performance.<\/p>\n U.S. News<\/em> categorizes colleges for their rankings based on the official Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching classification of universities.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, U.S. News and World Report\u2019s<\/em> Best Graduate Schools rankings<\/a> placed five University programs in the top 50 in the nation, and several programs ranked in the top 150 in the country, including business analytics, tied for 28th<\/strong>; finance, tied for 31st<\/strong>; accounting, tied for 39th<\/strong>; healthcare management, tied for 46th;<\/strong> rehabilitation counseling, tied for 49th<\/strong>; occupational therapy, tied for 79th<\/strong>; part-time MBA, tied for 80th<\/strong>; physical therapy tied for 105th<\/strong>; nursing-anesthesia, tied for 111th<\/strong>; doctor of nursing practice, tied for 127th<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Scranton has recently appeared in other national rankings, as well, including being designated as one of the nation\u2019s best colleges by Forbes<\/a> and the Princeton Review<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
