Doja Cat<\/a> will not be delving into country music anytime soon. <\/p>\n On Sept. 21, the \u201cKiss Me More\u201d singer appeared on CBS Mornings<\/a>, where journalist Michelle Miller brought up the idea of artists dabbling in different genres and bringing back old trends. <\/p>\n \u201cI think that coming out of the \u201990s, there was a hope for the future and artists were doing everything and playing a lot with irony,\u201d Doja said. \u201cIt\u2019s just gotten more and more ironic over the years, like rappers wearing skirts … rappers wearing skirts is a big one, and dresses \u2014 like that was being in touch with their feminine side.\u201d<\/p>\n Miller brought up genres like pop, rap, jazz, and R&B, a lot of which Doja Cat has done before, as she then asked the \u201cPaint The Town\u201d singer what genre her music doesn\u2019t reflect. <\/p>\n Her answer? \u201cCountry,\u201d Doja said. \u201cI think I\u2019m a rapper that makes pop music.\u201d <\/p>\n Doja Cat\u2019s<\/a> newest album, \u201cVie,\u201d is said to be very \u201cpop-driven,\u201d according to an interview the artist did with VMagazine<\/a>, and the influences can be heard in the first single to drop from the album, \u201cJealous Type.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cVie\u201d is out on Sept. 26.
