Soap opera star Kate Mansi<\/strong><\/a> was scammed into thinking she had been asked to be a guest on comedian Amy Poehler\u2019s<\/strong> podcast, and she recently gave more details about the incident and how it all went down.<\/p>\n \u201cI just logged onto my pre-interview call with Amy Poehler for her podcast who had reached out to me this week on my birthday and said they wanted to have me on as a guest,\u201d Mansi said in a TikTok video<\/a> posted to her account on Tuesday, September 23. \u201cI was so excited and couldn\u2019t believe Amy Poehler wanted to talk to me. I figured she might have been a General Hospital fan.\u201d<\/p>\n Mansi, who is known for her roles on both Days of Our Lives and General Hospital<\/a>, went on to admit that it was \u201cso embarrassing\u201d that she had to make the video because when she logged on, she realized it was \u201cdefinitely a scam.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI am heartbroken,\u201d Mansi continued. \u201cSo, if anyone gets an email from a Jake at Amy Poehler\u2019s Good Hang production company asking to be interviewed, do not respond. I\u2019m probably going to have a good cry after this.\u201d<\/p>\n The daytime actress thanked the team that did her hair and makeup for her appearance, as well as thanking those who helped her figure out her schedule. Mansi also went into detail about how authentic the email requesting for the interview looked by using the correct logos that Poehler uses for her brand. She added that even her publicist and team were fooled into thinking the request was authentic.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had some questions, obviously, which is why we asked for a pre-call,\u201d Mansi explained. \u201cIt was astonishing. None of us saw this coming. This is so strange.\u201d<\/p>\n In the comments section of the TikTok, several people commiserated with Mansi.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah this is a very common scam. I get daily emails inviting me to come on every podcast you can imagine. Anything from Joe Rogan<\/strong> to Chelsea Handler<\/strong>,\u201d one person wrote, while another added, \u201cWe were contacted by them too (to interview a client). Impersonation scams like this have circulated in the entertainment industry before, targeting actors, musicians and influencers.
