Rauw Alejandro<\/a> says he recently experienced an anxiety attack for the first time mid-performance.<\/p>\n In a new interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the Puerto Rican star explained he experienced an anxiety attack during one of the U.S. stops of his Cosa Nuestra <\/em>World Tour earlier this year.<\/p>\n \u201cI was able to experience an anxiety attack meanwhile I was performing,\u201d said the 32-year-old near the 21-minute mark in the video linked below. \u201cAnd it happened to me [for the] first time. Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n Alejandro attributed the incident to a combination of poor sleep, \u201cback-to-back\u201d concerts, and drinking straight coffee before hitting the stage.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was like a whole shutdown to the body,\u201d he explained. \u201cLiterally, I was like dancing and singing. Bro, and I saw myself like\u2014It was, like, \u2026 I saw me performing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou separated,\u201d Lowe responded.<\/p>\n \u201cSeparated,\u201d Alejandro agreed. \u201cIt was crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the overwhelming moment, he credited his inner strength\u2014what he called a \u201cwarrior spirit,\u201d for helping him push through.<\/p>\n \u201cI was able to manage and recover and get back to business but, like, you learn \u2026 that you’re not like a superhuman or a robot, and you have to respect your sleeping [schedule],\u201d he said, explaining that he made changes to his lifestyle, particularly prioritizing eight hours of sleep if he\u2019s not working.<\/p>\n He also acknowledged the toll of nonstop work over the past decade, admitting that with age, his body\u2019s limits have become clear.<\/p>\n \u201cNowadays, you know, I work differently,\u201d he said. \u201cYou start learning how your body works. Also, I\u2019m still young, you know? I’m 32, but t’s not the same when I was like 23 or 24, you know?
