Season 4 of The Morning Show takes on the issues of artificial intelligence, misinformation and deepfakes as it examines the question: What is the truth?<\/p>\n

But in Episode 2, she\u2019s accused of actually plotting the interview in order to make the defection possible. Something that, if true, could cost UBN its Olympics coverage, which would shut down the network \u2013 and there\u2019s a so-called video of her to prove it.<\/p>\n Of course, Alex denies that she said what\u2019s on the video, but she discovers that Stella (Greta Lee<\/strong>), Celine (Marion Cottilard<\/strong>) and John (Kenneth Choi<\/strong>) don\u2019t believe her and it the deepfake could cost her her job.<\/p>\n \u201cTrust, I would say, is our big theme this season,\u201d The Morning Show executive producer Mimi Leder<\/strong> tells Parade. \u201cWho can you trust? Can you trust what you\u2019re hearing? Can you trust what you\u2019re seeing with your own eyes? And what is the truth? With all deepfakes, it\u2019s very hard to know what is real and what isn\u2019t. Especially when Stella has been working on an AI project that has Alex speaking in 41 different languages. So, even though there\u2019s a very real possibility that someone could have hacked the program, Alex still isn\u2019t believed, which is interesting because later on in the season, we watch Stella interact with her AI as if it could really speak intelligently with her.<\/p>\n \u201cOur character, Stella, has a new platform. She\u2019s a CEO, and her platform is AI,\u201d Leder continues. \u201cShe looks at her AI as a reflection of who she is. She looks at herself, and does she like what she sees? And, is it flattering? Who is she seeing? Is she seeing her humanity? Is she losing her humanity? Toward this end, Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon)<\/strong> returns to UBN from the college where she\u2019s teaching journalism to investigate a potential cover-up.<\/p>\n \u201cBradley left under very difficult circumstances,\u201d Leder says. \u201cVery few people know the truth about why she left. And Alex and Cory (Billy Crudup<\/strong>) are very suspect of why she\u2019s back. Bradley is back for redemption. Definitely, she needs to redeem herself, and she\u2019s got a great story to explore in this season….
