Stevie Nicks<\/a> has unveiled a letter she wrote to her parents over 50 years ago, offering a glimpse of her life just before joining Fleetwood Mac.<\/p>\n The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame singer, 77, posted images of the handwritten note<\/a> on Instagram this week.<\/p>\n She explained that her mother had saved it since 1973, when Nicks was recording “Buckingham Nicks<\/a>,” her first album with then-partner\u00a0Lindsey Buckingham<\/a>. The release of the letter coincides with the long-awaited reissue of the album, which had been out of print for more than four decades.<\/p>\n Written from Sound City Studios in Van Nuys (Los Angeles County), the note captures Nicks’s mix of ambition, humor, and admiration for Buckingham. She confessed she was “getting very tired of listening to over 12 hours of music per day” but insisted, “I know it will pay off in the end.”<\/p>\n “When I am sitting in my small but luxurious Beverly Hills home overlooking my small but tasteful pool that is totally secluded, where I can sun in the nude and tan my entire fat body while waiting for my plastic surgery leg lift\u00a0– it will all be worth it,” Nicks wrote.<\/p>\n With her 25th birthday approaching, she instructed her family to set aside the entire month of May.<\/p>\n “A new landmark like this should not simply be passed over as yet another birthday, but should include a gala celebration,” she wrote. “I shall leave it to the three of you to plan it.”<\/p>\n Turning to music, Nicks noted that a “rock and roll tune” her father and brother admired was nearly finished, praising Buckingham’s playing on the song “Don’t Let Me Down Again.”<\/p>\n “Lindsey may go down in history as one of \u2018greats’ in guitar playing,” she wrote. “It really is quite amazing.”<\/p>\n She wrapped up the letter by asking for well-wishes for her new project.<\/p>\n “Hold good thoughts about this thing,” Nicks wrote.<\/p>\n The letter predates the pivotal moment when Mick Fleetwood invited the duo to join Fleetwood Mac in 1974, launching a career for all members that would define rock history.<\/p>\n The “Buckingham Nicks” reissue, released Sept. 19, features remastered tracks sourced from the original analog tapes and is now available digitally and on limited vinyl.<\/p>\n Nicks is scheduled to perform<\/a> at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento Oct. 4.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
