Cardi B<\/a> is shutting down theories that music industry power players gave her a platform just to sabotage someone else\u2019s career.<\/p>\n In a preview of her upcoming Call Her Daddy episode, shared exclusively with Complex, Cardi addressed the long-standing rumor to host Alex Cooper.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople have made this whole story that I came in the industry to, like, take over somebody’s career,\u201d Cardi said. \u201cBut it’s like, I never thought that. Like, before I got signed, I was investing my money. It’s nothing more than just people didn’t get along with each other and that’s just that, but I’m, I’m done with that.\u201d<\/p>\n Ever since she made her commercial breakthrough with \u201cBodak Yellow\u201d in 2017 and before earning her first Grammy the following year, Cardi has been subject to pesky rumors that she is an \u201cindustry plant<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n That very speculation was repeated by Ye<\/a> (formerly Kanye West), as seen in leaked footage circa 2018 where he called Cardi \u201ca plant by the Illuminati\u201d that \u201cliterally replaced Nicki Minaj<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n “She don’t write her raps. She just there to sound as ignorant as possible and then make songs like, ‘ f**k them and get some money,’\u201d Ye said at the time. \u201cShe has literally replaced Nicki Minaj, purposely that they put her there, and now she doesn’t know what to do, and she has no idea what the f**k is going on. She thinks it’s just a blessing from the universe.
