Darius Rucker is stepping back into the world of rock, but it won\u2019t be with Hootie and the Blowfish.<\/p>\n
Instead, the star singer is slated to team up with R.E.M. co-founder Mike Mills and The Black Crowes drummer and co-founder Steve Gorman to form a super group \u2014 Howl Owl Howl \u2014 and they already have a single on the way and a tour planned.<\/p>\n
According to People Magazine<\/b><\/a>, the single \u2014 \u201cMy Cologne\u201d \u2014 is slated to drop on Oct. 31. Meanwhile, the tour is slated to start at The Vogue in Indianapolis, Indiana on Nov. 3.<\/p>\n \u201cIt feels great to be singing with a rock band again,\u201d Rucker said. \u201cIt\u2019s like buddies getting together, but also getting to play with your idols. The stuff we\u2019re writing is so different than anything I\u2019ve tried to do before.\u201d<\/p>\n According to People, Howl Owl Howl \u201cfuses organic roots rock with an open-minded alternative flair, matching a fluid, feel-oriented rhythm section to the barrel-chested vocal rasp of an iconic frontman.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou can never explain band chemistry,\u201d Mills said. \u201cWe all like each other. And we all admire each other musically.
