A French woman tricked into sending \u00a3700,000 to a man impersonating Brad Pitt has revealed the intimate text messages they exchanged. <\/p>\n

Earlier this year 53-year-old Anne Deneuchatel revealed she’d been left penniless<\/a> after being conned into sending all her money to a scammer posing as the Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood<\/em> star, believing she was funding the actor’s ‘cancer treatment’. <\/p>\n

Deneuchatel ended up sending the imposter a total of \u20ac830,000 (\u00a3697,000) over the course of their online relationship, before eventually reporting the situation to local police.<\/p>\n

Authorities were eventually able to track down the scammers<\/a>, which were revealed to be a group operating out of Nigeria. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile the fallout of the viral<\/a> story saw Deneuchatel divorce her husband and receive inpatient psychiatric treatment over the ordeal. <\/p>\n

Eight months on from the story first making headlines and Deneuchatel has now written a book about her experience, titled Je ne serai plus une proie’ (I Will No Longer Be a Prey), which details everything that happened between her and the fake Brad Pitt<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The book sees the divorcee detail the intimate messages exchanged between her and ‘Brad’, which include heart-to-heart discussions about the actor’s alcohol addiction, loneliness and the fallout from his divorce to Angelina Jolie. <\/p>\n

“My queen,’ he called her. ‘You are all I have. I adore you. Baby, I love you so much,” read one message sent to Deneuchatel by the imposter (via Le Monde).<\/p>\n

The pair would message several times a day, with the scammer sending poems, romantic messages, and a marriage proposal.<\/p>\n

Deneuchatel also opened up about the marital difficulties she’d been experiencing at the time, revealing how her conversations with ‘Brad’ provided her with an escape. <\/p>\n

“My husband had put me in a bind,” she said. “He said I should be content to be a trophy. I no longer had any independence. At one point, it seemed easier to help ‘Brad’ than to help myself.”<\/p>\n

Deneuchatel has since divorced her husband, reported to be a wealthy businessman, calling the end of her marriage ‘the only positive thing’ to have come from the scam.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Pitt, who is currently in a relationship with Ines de Ramon, released a statement about the situation, revealing his horror over the situation<\/a>. <\/p>\n

“It\u2019s awful that scammers take advantage of the strong bond between fans and celebrities,” a representative for Pitt said, before sharing a general reminder about internet safety.<\/p>\n

“This is an important reminder not to respond to unsolicited online messages, especially from actors who are not present on social networks.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
